Profile

About Me:
I write historical romantic adventure set in the Regency for both Robert Hale and D C Thomson. I also have books with Belgrave - an e-publisher- on www.regencyreads.com. I also write WW2 sagas but have not had either of these published yet. I am still agent less as well:-)
I am a member of the RNA and part of a UK Historical Writers blog.
I have been writing for years but only had the time to complete anything when I stopped teaching four years ago. Since then I have been delighted to sell eight books to Hale, four to D C Thomson (My Weekly Pocket Books) and seven to Thorpe for large print. I also have three e-books on www.regencyreads.com.

This is the cover of my latest book, A DEBT OF HONOUR, for Robert Hale, it will be published on 29th February 2008. It is a Regency romantic adventure set in Dedham, Essex - the stamping ground of the world famous artist, John Constable.
Constable features briefly in the book as well! The house depicted is real, Grove House, and it is the home of the heroine, Eliza Fox, and her family. (It's actually the home of a dear friend of mine.)
The book is avilable direct form Hale, in the UK, postage free, at www.halebooks.com, and for the first few weeks will be sold at around £13. It's also available from Amazon and to order at all UK book shops.
No doubt it will appear in due course at most libraries in the UK as well, but if it doesn't they will order it for you if you ask them to.
Hope you enjoy it.
A DEBT OF HONOUR will be available as an e-book on www.regencyreads.com at the end of March 2008.

Ghosts of Neddingfield Hall is my first Gothic type novel so is a departure for me from my usual straight Regency. I'm about to start a Victorian saga set in Colchester which is an even bigger change. I'm just finishing the research - and have loved doing this part of it.
Thank you for yuor kind thoughts

Hi Fenella!

I put my website together in 2005. I use Godaddy as a host site as well as for their software. It was surprisingly easy. I deliberately set up my website so it doesn't require a lot of time to maintain. I try to put up new pictures on the front page every month or so. I did the ones about London hotels the first of January. Mostly I just have to check the links to make sure they're current. Every now and then I add new ones.

I'm not familiar with Regencyreads. Can you tell me more?

Many thanks for adding me as a friend, Fenella. Your writing CV looks intriguing. Are you planning to go to the HNS conference in York? I'm still thinking about it though I don't even know if there are any spaces left.
All the best, Stephanie

Hi Fenella! Glad my factoid about pencils was helpful. Early pencils resembled what we in America call "carpenter's" pencils. They were broad and flat.
