About Me:
I live in the southeast corner of Colorado where the rain is Tess, the fire's Joe, and they call the wind Mariah. The pet-per-square-footage in my house borders over-crowding and my husband reminds me of this every time a new critter arrives. I like coffee, wine, dark chocolate, and cheese pizza (it's the perfect food). In my public life, I'm a mild-mannered high school history and English teacher, but in the dark of night, the insomniac of my alter-ego hovers over my computer to write historical western romances for Cobblestone Press.

Hello and introduction

Holiday Greetings from cold and snowy southeastern Colorado. Thank you, Anne Whitfield, for creating this site for networking about historical fiction. A little more about me...I grew up on a cattle/horse ranch, I spent years following the amateur rodeo circuit, raced thoroughbred horses, went to grad school, did time as a special education administrator, and now I work part-time to support my writing habit. The American west from 1830's to 1915-ish is the comfort zone of my writing time peri…

Hello,
Thanks for the invitation. I see we are both fans and writers of western novels. You have a very informative web page.

THAT'S IT! THAT'S THE ONE :)
I'm not a fan of first person either and it seems so popular lately. I resepect it well done. I know 300 wasn't perfect in the way of story telling...the bodies were, that was enough. But it along with Gladiator and HBO Rome have certainly brought ancient historicals out.
Well, take care.

Deb, have you read the Gate of Fire by Peterson....It is awesome. In fact it's required reading at the military academies....it's soooo good. I write ancient historical Rome.
Glad you found me.

You're welcome. I'll be sure to tell my daughter. She's learning and it always makes her day when someone comments on her work. Thanks for accepting my friends request. Have a wonderful weekend.

I did a bit of small-time barrel racing, too, a very long time ago. Had a total blast.
