Historical Fiction Books

Historical Fiction Books for you!

It is nearly 150 years since author, Wilkie Collins wrote the classic literature, 'The Woman in White'. This book kept me on the edge of my seat until the end of the book.
The Woman in White was first published in 1860 and it has become the book of legends. It has a warm and compassionate side, yet dangerous and daring and the climax that gives the heroine and heroes of this story the winning edge of complete justification.
I recently saw the movie version of The Woman in White made in 1948. It was shown on Halloween Eve on TCM (tcm.com) and I relived the storyline in the book all over again. The cast of actors were excellent and because it is a period movie (which is my favorite kind of movies) I was amazed at the detail of that time in Victorian England.
Wilkie Collins survived the literary industry with a huge success of books written and how in this industry is simply a part of life to have read a novel by him.
I celebrate Mr. Collins brilliant way with words and how this being a fictional story, it had so many points to illustrate that this is a situation that can and could actually happen.
I believe and I will take it upon myself to hold a celebration of Mr. Wilkie Collins on the anniversary of 150 years since the completion and introduction of this book.
It is necessary that this be celebrate and writing and elegant characters in this book should remain the foremost of historical literature for centuries to come.
