The American Patriot Series Is Being Read by Middle Schoolers

Here are comments I received recently from a 13 year-old reader. It's particularly gratifying to know that my series is bringing history alive for younger readers too!

"The American Patriot Series intrigued me from the very beginning. I'm a picky reader and usually have to give a book two to three chapters before getting hooked; however, I only had to read a paragraph and found myself wanting more. Elizabeth Howard's parents are Tories through-and-through, but Elizabeth doesn't quite agree with them. So, when Elizabeth meets British General Carleton, things become humorous and exciting. This all leads to a shocking and exciting ending.

"Native Son is mainly about General Jonathan Carleton. Carleton is sent into Native American territory to make a peace treaty, while Elizabeth is to stay behind and continue her work [as a spy]. Once again, Mrs. Hochstetler leads us to a wonderfully surprising ending. The American Patriot Series is not only exciting and full of surprises, but it is also inspiring. J. M. Hochstetler writes in her book that no matter what crime we commit, no matter what we've done, God is there for us and He loves us unconditionally. He will always forgive us and help us start again.

"I must admit I was quite disappointed when I reached the end of Native Son. Not because of the ending, but because I'll have to wait until 2009 to read the third book in this series. (Be sure to check out the American Patriot Series Blog for more information!) Thank you Mrs. Hochstetler for giving me two of the most enjoyable books that I have read. I will surely read this series again and again."

Great! Thank you so much, and I hope you enjoy them. I haven't read any of Tricia's books yet, but it sounds like I need to do so. WWII is definitely a period I'm very interested in and would love to publish.

Joan, I have ordered all three books of your American Patriot Series at Christianbook.com. I have an account there. I bought and read the complete WWII series by Tricia Boyer--excellent work. She has uncovered much of the same history I have. I suppose my writing could be comparable to hers except for the direct Christian experience.

You can order them on CBD--christianbook.com--or amazon and barnesandnoble.com. Amazon doesn't have Wind of the Spirit up yet for some reason. I need to have my distributor pester them about it. lol!

You can also order the 1st 2 directly from Sheaf House at www.sheafhouse.com. They're currently out of print, but I'm going to reissue them at some point in a revised edition. You'll find them on the Close-out Specials page. Wind of the Spirit will be available for purchase on the site too as soon as we have it in the warehouse, about mid February.

I hope you enjoy them!

Bonnie, the third book of my American Patriot Series, Wind of the Spirit, releases March 2. I'm really excited to finally see this one in print and continue Elizabeth and Jonathan's story!
