About Me:
History has always been alive to me, I have always sort to learn lessons of enduring worth from history in the last few years I have taken the time to begin writing Historical novels drawing on my knowledge of from history as yet I have not been successful in finding a publisher or agent. I have three completed manuscripts two of which deal with a man who has a very long life he started life as an Innkeeper in the town of Bethlehem and the two novels map out his life and the events of history as he has lived through them.

The third Novel is a historical set in England in the years 1813-1816 and deals with a family of landed gentry Lead by the noble Sir Thomas Sterley.

I live in the coastal city of Port Elizabeth South Africa; I am happily married and have three hell demons for daughters. Guess it must be the mixture of English Irish Scots and Dutch blood that makes them such a handful.

Any way if there is a publisher or an agent out there looking for a new author contact me.
Favourite Books
Pride and prejudice (Jane Austen)
The Source (James Albert Michener)
Alaska (James Albert Michener)
Dracula (Bram Stoker)

Books and words “Oakland Park” & “The first book of Samuel”

The fact that people read is a great thing for those of us who write and I for one am keenly aware that readers can be fecal if you do some thing wrong like kill of a popular hero in a story for example you are liable to really upset your readers to a point that they no longer read your writing.

On the other hand as a writer one some times comes to know ones character so well when for example I killed off a character in “The second book of Samuel” I mentally and physically went in to a three da… Continue

Press release First Samuel Hits The Market

By DraculVanHelsing @ Saturday, May. 03, 2008 - 11:27:26 am

Ever wonder where the great classical storytellers have gone?
The 19th Century used to be full of them- Jane Austen, The Bronte Sisters, Charles Dickens.
People who told a real story with real-life characters- even the minor characters were real.
Now in what they call the postmodern world of postmodern literature, there seem to be very few writers left who are also real storytellers.
Instead we get stock characters with stereoty… Continue

He came in to the room; Jane was sitting on the desk writing “Hello Jane” he said. She did not reply he came over and stood beside her and glanced down at what she was writing “Mr Bennett had just sat down to write a letter to his tailor.” He read. So Jane was been her usual self her creative abilities still amazed him after all these years and so many successful books in print Jane simply refused to stop writing.

Good afternoon, Tim--I'm halfway through your book. In the morning, we're leaving on a two-week road trip. I do take my computer along, and since it's difficult to write during these times, I catch up on my reading. Sooo, maybe in a couple of weeks I'll have finished it. It's funny! Dear Tim--I barely have my feet wet, here, but I especially want to say something to you about historical novels. I, too, have dabbled in straight historicals, but found that I always had a romance going there,so I just began to focus on that area. BUT--I want to tell you about a publisher here in the states that prints different sorts of things, often concerning historicals. So, if you will give me a day or two, I will send by this post a website for you. this publisher is US based---but I don't think that matters, he might even like what you write. Okay? You hang in there, and I'll get back to you tomorrow, I hope. Celia Yeary-Texas (I hope to have my own photo up soon--if I can figure this thing out!!!)

Did you know that some of the stories the Brother's Grimm wrote had counterparts in China that had been published hundreds of years earlier than their births? I think I mentioned it in My Splendid Concubine. If not in there, it's going to be in the sequel.

Hi Tim,
South Africa, huh? I'm in the Netherlands, so there's a Dutch connection. Have you read Vanessa Del Fabbro? She published her debut novel (set in S.Africa) with my publisher, Steeple Hill. It was very good.
Isn't the regency period great? I just re-watched my Persuasion DVD tonight.
Thanks for the invite.
