Profile Information

About Me:

I've written two historical novels set in fourteenth-century England: The Traitor's Wife: A Novel of the Reign of Edward II, and Hugh and Bess. Both were reissued in 2009 by Sourcebooks, Inc. My third novel, The Stolen Crown, is set during the Wars of the Roses and features Henry Stafford, Duke of Buckingham, and his wife, Katherine Woodville. It will be published in March 2010. Favourite Books

Anything by Charles Dickens, Charlotte Bronte, Anne Tyler, and P. D. James. Some of my favorite historical novelists are Sharon Penman, Brenda Honeyman, Jean Plaidy, Norah Lofts, Margaret Campbell Barnes, and Reay Tannahill.

How many books have you published, and with whom, Susan? I think it's interesting that you also like Anne Tyler--you are the first enthusiast I've met. I so admire her work.

Thanks for asking me.

It's odd, but I left a message yesterday but it doesn't seem to have gotten through.

I've heard good things about your books and hope to get to them sometime soon. I love historical fiction. I got into it indirectly when a friend of mine implored me to "do something" with the diary of his ancestor, a countess in 1790s Poland. The result, many years later, was my first book.
