Sounds very interesting, Beth. I was particularly interested to note the point you made about Cleopatra using sex to further her political aims, not for its own sake. That was what it was like until... relatively recently.

- I am a keen writer of short stories and novels, but most of my work has a keen historical slant in that I tend to base my stories at a quite specific period of time. Unpublished so far, alas, but I'm working on it, hard!
I am also a history graduate and historical accuracy matters to me a great deal. I'm into social history, by the way, not kings and queens and palaces.
