... have I been inactive here or what?!
I didn't even remember I was a member until I got a message about the group today! Must be an early sign of me developing alzheimers... ;)
I'll try to do better in the future! :D
Hoping to be published in the future. Have written a Victorian mystery as well as a sequel to it (both in my native tounge Swedish). Am now in the middle of a third book with some minor interaction with both of them although the characters are brand new. I am trying to find time to go through the finished manuscripts so I can give them a shot at some publisher, but I confess i find it much more interesting to write new ones! I am specializing in the late Victorian era as well as the early 1900's (up until about 1914). I love doing research and it is not unusual for me to end up spending the time planned for writing on the research that was supposed to be a quick piece of cake.
I don't really have many outstanding favourites, there are way too many fabulous books out there, but to mention something I will say anything by Madeleine Brent and Charles Dickens, Kidnapped by R.L. Stevenson, Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. And many, many more.
Hi Maritha,
I have just joined this site as I am at the moment writing a historical novel based on two women in my family. The story is set in Stockholm, Helsinki, New York and Monte Carlo. The women I am writing about are my grandmother's sister and her daughter. Both my grandmother and her sister married Finns (finlandsvenskar) and came to live in Helsinki around 1900.
My mother grew up in Helsinki and went to the northern front as a nurse during the war, where she met a Swedish doctor (my father) and married him and came to live in Stockholm.
This is my first venture into historicale fiction. All my previous novels have been contemporary.
Hoppas vi kan 'prata' lite pa natet. hej da och God Jul.
