Profile Information

About Me:
I live in the rolling hills and open farm land of western New York. I have three college age kids and a husband of 25 years. I grew up on reruns of Roy Rogers and The Lone Ranger and have always had a passion for American history, especially from the Civil War through the cowboy era. After my second child was born I discovered the romance novel and naturally began to combine the two passions into the stories I love to write.

Between the Lines

Anxious to escape the confines of her loving, but overprotective family, Meg Greyson travels to Wyoming Territory to marry the man of her dreams. Only she discovers Brendan Kelly is nothing like the gentleman rancher who penned her beautiful letters. As she comes to know this intimidating, yet tacit man, Meg finds herself constantly having to rationalize away his dark and dangerous side in order to conform him to her image of the perfect man who wrote her letters.
Brendan knows he should tell her the truth, but once he does, she will leave him forever. So he keeps pretending and every time she says, “I love you,” he dies a little more inside, for he knows he will never be the man she wants him to be.

An Ordinary Angel coming in e-format December 9th from The Wild Rose Press

“I-I don’t hate you, Mr. Parker.” In all her nineteen years, Julianne Spencer had never been so ashamed of her actions. She shifted uncomfortably, suddenly feeling as shy and awkward as Mr. Parker usually appeared.
His dark gaze searched her face for just a moment, as though judging her sincerity, then acknowledged her statement with a slight nod.
“I-I am so sorry for my part in that conversation you overheard. Those comments—what Maggie repeated—what I said—I didn’t really mean it. I was just…”
He nodded again.
“But I…”
“I accept your apology, Miss Julianne. And you needn’t worry. I’ll not impose myself on you again. Merry Christmas.” Ever the southern gentleman, he politely touched his finger to his hat brim and stepped into the street.
“Mr. Parker, wait!” Anxiety gave her voice an edge rarely heard in her usual dulcet tones. He swung to face her, his brow arched in surprise.
“I wanted to say—that is— You’re a nice man. You have excellent manners. You never swear, or smoke, or drink. You dress well. You are polite and articulate. But after all these months of church socials, dances, and Sunday dinners, I-I’ve never seen you dirty.”
“I beg your pardon?”
“I’ve never seen you dirty.” Her shoulders rose and fell as she heaved a frustrated sigh. “I mean, I still don’t know your favorite food. I don’t know what makes you angry or how to make you laugh. And I don’t believe you know me any better.
“I can almost see the two of us, ten years down the road, still caught up in this cold relationship of polite indifference. I am sorry, Mr. Parker, but you deserve more than that, and so do I.”

Holiday Shopping Complete?

Every year I tell myself I'm going to have my shopping done early. And every year I start out in August picking up items for the stockings and little gifts from Santa, like books and DVD's. I think I'm doing fine until I get the lists, which don't start dirfting my way until right before Thanksgiving. Then the craziness starts.
A couple of years ago it was the white coats. I started early, patting myself on the back for having nearly finished my youngest daughter by Oct. After Thanksgiving I got… Continue

Reviewers Choice Award for BETWEEN THE LINES

Hi All,

I've heard from other authors how exciting it is to receive a new review for an older story and for me this wonderful review was like extra frosting on a cup cake.

Sal, Reviewer for Two Lips Reviews rated this story 5 Kisses and gave it a Reviewers Choice Award.

"...fascinating from the first page. ...an exciting story with more mysteries than a Sherlock Holmes novel. Between the Lines made me cry, laugh and wonder--a delightful and entertaining must read."

Concerning your questions on firearms...
Try books from CRC Press (CRCpress.com), such as "Practical Analysis and Reconstruction of Shooting Incidents".

Hi All,

Here's what Lynda Warnock from Writers and Readers of Distinctive Fiction said about my new novel, Between the Lines;

Between the Lines is more than just a romance; laced throughout with more than enough suspense to keep your interest until the end. I didn't want to put this tale down until I had finished, and I enjoyed every word.

I'm not even sure where the firearms workshop is but no I didn't plan on going so I'm thinking it too inconvenient. Its my kinda thing. I did a talk last night and had some of my own firearms there, and some other CW stuff..it was a good meet, and it was an unintrusive way to "promote" my book. I'm always handing out cards an telling people about my book, but agreee that it doesn't come natural.. (also not too active on this list)

Hi Kathy,

Yes, I love the history in my family. I sometimes wish I could go back in time to relive some of it!

It's nice to "meet" you here.
