I’ve been writing since the age of fifteen. I read and wrote my first ever romance story. I won’t call it a novel because it took one, five hundred white spiraled notebook pages--cover to cover. That was the moment the ’writing bug’ bit and bit hard. In the interim years I had four girls who are now (16, 15, 14 and 12) full blown teenagers. I love every minute of being a mother. Everyday I learn so much about them and myself. My twelve year old was diagnosed at the age of 1 ½ with LD’S and at the age of four with ADHD( Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and Asperger’s Syndrome (a form of Autism). Having a special needs child has taught me to advocate what is best for her. In advocating for her I had to find my voice. And in finding my voice I rediscovered what I had hid a way for so long. Writing for me is a form of cathartics. It doesn’t matter what I’m writing. If its romance, erotica or a contemporary short story I feel the same overwhelming sense that I NEED to do this.
One more thing and this is a must about me. I am desperately in love with the whole notion of Ireland. From its wind swept rolling hills of green to the quaint pubs you go to have a pint or two, or the people your bound to meet, Ireland is the place I long for.
Reading anything I can get my hands on. My main obsessive compulsion (OC) is every genre of romance. I admit and proudly do so; I’m an erotica/paranormal/suspense thriller/historical/ contemporary romance junkie. When I’m not reading the latest J.R Ward, Christine Feehan, Kathryn Smith or Lara Adrian I am surfing the web for forensics police procedures and any and all writing tools. In the last year I can safely say I’ve bought over fifty research and writing books. I’m not even going to guess how many books are lining my bedroom floor--there is a Mt. Everest of books in that one room alone.
