"Elizabeth" (the original one, not the sequel) was my favorite, but before that film, I read "Legacy," by Susan Kay (1985) that brought me to interest in Elizabeth.

This is the only one I can think of at the moment, but I am sure there will be more....Oh! Helen Keller was a good one, too! But it should have been named for the woman that made Helen Keller who she became (just my humble opinion)

My favorite historical on film is "finding Neverland" about Scottish playwright James M.Barrie who wrote "Peter Pan".

My girls think I'm sappy because I've seen the movie thousands of times but still cry at the same scenes.
